My Alma Mater

An old Sea Aggie friend of mine was able to visit the island in the days after Ike. She got some photos of the interstate into Galveston and our school - Texas A&M University (TAMUG). It's such a bummer to see this stuff. I read that they have already moved all the Galveston students to the College Station location so they can continue their classes. I cannot imagine having to deal with school in the middle of all this chaos. I also heard by word of mouth that the UTMB medical students are being relocated around the country so they can keep up with their schooling.

Boat in the road - a common sight in Galveston at the moment.

The road out to Pelican Island, where TAMUG is located

The bridge out to Pelican Island is demolished. =(

Downed bridge. No cars heading out this way.
