Horatio the Hamster

SO, leaving Callaway out of his kennel yesterday didn't go as smoothly as I had planned. It was nothing as horrible as it used to be when I would come home to a room full of feathers because the dog decided he didn't like that pillow. It was just a hallway full of cat litter and a bed covered in Callaway-hairs. =( He somehow weasled himself between the chair and the shelf to jump over the plywood we put in the doorway. Apparently he has no problem breaking the rules when we're not home. Visions of what's to come with Lil Wodie?

When I tried to get Callaway to jump back over the plywood to get out of the back of the house and to let him outside, he WOULD NOT DO IT. Then when Travis got home, he tried to get Callaway to jump up on our bed. Again, he WOULD NOT DO IT. Damn dog. He knows better!

Anyhoo, we're taking a break from free reign of the house until next week. We are going to have to completely block off the doorway with the plywood somehow. I don't think he has enough running room to get enough momentum to jump over the baby gate. That's pretty tall, so I don't think we need to worry about that doorway.

I know this is old news, but I had to mention it. Can you imagine waking up to find out your family had given up on you? Talk about bummer!

In news about nothing, check out this blog some guy keeps up that tracks how far his hamster runs on his wheel. He is converting it into real distance to find out how long it would take him to trek across the UK. LOL!
